Rules and Game Play of Baccarat
Baccarat is really an interesting game as it involves around 12 to 14 players and three dealers. The table is around the size of a craps table. Baccarat can be an online casino or a traditional casino game. In an online casino, the cards are dealt automatically, while in a traditional casino, the cards are dealt either by a dealer or each player, depending on the rules of the casino.
There are primarily two types of bets in Baccarat. These are banker's bets or player's bets. Sometimes, on rare occasions, the standoff bet, or tie, is used. The game is extremely simple. The aim of the game is to reach 9 points. However, the rules are stringent, and players must follow them.
Immaterial to how many players are playing, just two hands are always dealt. One is the banker's hand, the other is considered as the player's hand. Other than the player holding the shoe, the rest can bet on the banker's hand or the player's hand. The shoe holding player must bet either on the banker's hand or pass on the shoe.
Each card in the deck has a value attached to it. For instance, an Ace is valued at one point, while other cards have a value according to their numbers and this continues until Nine. From Ten onwards, the remaining cards have a value of zero points.
After the cards are dealt, the round comes to an end; and the points of each player are counted. In case the points are more than 9, then the first digit is not taken into consideration. For instance, if the points are more then 10, then 10 is subtracted from the total.
Each player at the table has to bet either on the banker or the player. In this case the player will win even money. However, if the banker wins, the player may have to pay a 5 percent commission. However, there are some Baccarat games where the player does not have to pay commission. In case you bet a standoff, then you will receive 8:1 payoff.
Usually the dealer will deal two cards for himself and one card for the player, who is playing the game. On certain occasions a third card is dealt. However, both the banker and the player get two cards each. In this case, the winner is the hand which has higher points. In case both hands have the same points, then it is a tie or standoff.
A third card is dealt only if the point of the first two cards is 1 to 5 or 10. In case, the points total to 6 or more, then the third card is not dealt. At the same time, there are many rules for the banker when it comes to drawing a third card. Here are the rules:
- When the banker's points total to 2, he is allowed to draw a third immaterial what the third card of the player is.
- When the banker's points total 3, he can draw the third card. However, if the player's points total 8, the banker cannot draw the third card.
- When the banker
- When the banker's points total 4, he is allowed to draw a third card unless the player's third card is One, Eight, Nine, Ten or a Face card.
- When the banker's points total 5, he can draw the third card unless the player's third card is One, Two, Three, Eight, Nine, Ten or a Face card.
- If the banker's total points are 6, he can draw the third card only if the player's third card is Six or Seven.
Before you head to the nearest Baccarat table, it is important that you spend some time learning the rules correctly. Although this game is simple, a player has to master the rules first. Beginners, usually, will take some time to understand these rules. However, once they learn the rules about when the third card can be drawn, the beginners are ready to play real Baccarat. In addition, players have to have a strategy in place along with knowing all the terms associated with the game. At the same time, Baccarat is a guessing game, and the odds most often favor the banker than the player.
Even if you still do not understand how to play Baccarat, do not let it stop you. Usually in a traditional casino, the dealer guides players during each stage of the game. For example, the dealer will tell you when to draw the third card or how many cards to cut from the deck.
